20 Simple Home Remedies For Cracked Heels

Dry and cracked heels are the worst nightmares for most of the women. The skin of the feet tends to become dry as some times we don’t give attention to them and they get cracks.

There may be many reasons for cracked heels but mainly there are reasons such as lack of miniaturization, over exposure to the pollution and also some medical conditions like eczema, diabetes, thyroid and psoriasis, which leads to dry and cracked feet. There are some home remedies to treat the cracked heels.

1.Lemon, salt, glycerin, rose water mask

You need:

  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp glycerine
  • 2 tbsp rose water
  • warm water

How to use:

  • Take a bucket or a small tub and add all the ingredients.
  • Soak your feet for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Scrub them with a pumice stone.
  • Mix 1 tsp of glycerin with lemon juice and rose water.
  • Apply on cracked area and sleep.

Frequency:

Repeat it for few days.

Why?

The acidic properties of lemon juice heals the rough and dry skin. Along with lemon, glycerin and rose water are very effective to treat cracked heels.

2.Vegetable oil

You need:

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil.

How to use:

  • Wash your feet and dry them completely.
  • Apply a layer of vegetable oil and wear socks.
  • Leave it overnight.

Frequency:

Do this daily at night.

The fats in the vegetable oil nourish the skin and cracked heels.

3.Banana and avocado mask

You need:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • ½ avocado

  • Blend both the ingredients.

  • 1 tsp Vaseline
  • 4-5 drops of lemon juice

  • Soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes to soften them.
  • Dry them completely and apply Vaseline mixed with lemon juice.
  • Keep it overnight and wash it in the morning.

Frequency:

Do this daily until you see the results.

Acidic properties of lemon juice and moisturizing properties of Vaseline works great to heal cracked heels.

5.Honey 

You need:

  • 1 cup honey
  • Warm water.

How to use:

  • In half of a bucket mix one cup of honey.
  • Soak your feet for 15-20 minutes.
  • Scrub it gently.

Frequency:

You can do this on regular basis.

Why?

Honey is a natural antiseptic to treat dry skin and also best for treating cracked heels.

6.Olive oil 

You need:

  •  1 tbsp olive oil

How to use:

  • Apply some olive oil on your feet and massage for 20 minutes.
  • Wear socks and wash after and hour.

7.Coconut oil

You need:

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • A pair of socks

  • Rinse with water and pat dry.

You need:

  • Pumice stone
  • Warm water

  • ½ cup Epsom salt
  • Warm water
  • Bucket

Do this twice or thrice a week.

Why?

Epsom salt softens and smoothes the skin and also soothes tired feet.

16.Oatmeal 

You need:

  • 1 tbsp oatmeal in powder form
  • 4-5 drops of olive oil

How to use:

  • Mix the powdered oatmeal with olive oil to make a paste.
  • Apply it on your cracked heels and leave it for 30 minutes.

18.Apple cider vinegar 

You need:

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Warm water
  • Bucket

Frequency:

Do this on alternative days.

  • 3 tbsp baking soda

20.Tea tree oil 

You need:

  • 5-6 drops of tea tree oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
  • Socks

How to use:

  • Mix tea tree oil with coconut oil or olive oil.
  • Massage your feet for 1 or 2 minutes.
  • Wear socks and sleep.

Frequency:

Do this every night until you see results.

Why?

Tea tree cleanses and conditions the skin and also make it soft.

    VASELINE and coconut oil is amazing to combat cracked heels. I used Himalaya foot cream it works well too.
